Hello lovely bookworms! I hope the new year’s been treating all of you well! The start of the year has been awesome for me; I’ve been spending time with family and friends and our dog, Charly, who is the laziest and sweetest girl ever.
The start of the year is also the start of my rep term for The House of Wicks, a candle company based in the Philippines whose candles are beautiful, unique, and most of all smell really great! I have always loved their candles even before I became a rep, so this month of January is an exciting month for me.
I change the look of my theme… again
2017 was the year I changed my bookstagram theme… twice. Of course, I don’t need to change my theme at all, and it’s perfectly alright not to have a unifying theme. But I get antsy when something is off in my theme, even just a little bit. You can say that I might be OCD a little when it comes to how my feed looks! So eventually I had to ditch the current theme and filter to get one that gave a more uniform look to my photos, whether it be indoor or outdoor ones.

I become a brand rep
In case you didn’t know what it was, a brand representative helps a business grow. This is especially important when you want your business to get seen by a lot of different people who are already interested in products similar to yours! So in exchange for a rep package, where the business sends samples of their products to me, I promote their business on my Instagram and other social media pages.
The House of Wicks is a candle shop specializing in bookish-themed candles, and I’ve been a huge fan of them even before I became a rep. So you can imagine my excitement when they chose me to help promote their small business! I just received my rep package from them and it consisted of three 2oz candles, one 4oz candle, and a room mist.
Their products are so amazing and I’ve always been impressed with their blend of scents! My favorite from this batch is definitely the Night Circus room mist; it’s a new product of theirs and just two test sprays filled my room with the aroma of sweetness and spice. I also love Mad Tea Party a lot, and Unbirthday Cake and Currently Reading have such adorable wax designs I don’t even want to burn them because then they’ll be all melted!
So what’s next?
I don’t know, honestly! I’m taking bookstagramming in stride and I’ve been less pressured to post regularly, although I still do just because I have so many photos that I just want to show and post. So far I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this hobby of mine and I hope I can stay in this community for years and years to come. I’ve met so many like-minded people who have eventually become my friends, and I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for me, bookstagram-wise!
