Hey there, beautiful bookworms! So for the past couple of days, I’ve been thinking about this blog aspect of my online life, and I had been becoming a little “meh” about it and the content I put out. I feel like for the past months, I haven’t been putting out quality content, instead aiming for regular posting. Basically, the quantity over quality problem. And I don’t even post that often to begin with.
So I think from now on I’m going to post less, and instead focus more of my time on reading and writing thoughtful, thorough reviews for diverse books instead. I will do my best to still post for the Diversity Spotlight Thursday meme, because it’s one of my favorite memes to come out of the book blogging world, but aside from that and the occasional book tours/blitz’s, I will mostly be posting reviews or thoughtful insights about the things I have learned and am learning.
I’m also working on my novel, and it’s admittedly still a mess even after several drafts working on my own, but now I have two wonderful critique partners to whom I owe all the thanks and love in the world to because they’ve given me insights, ideas, and suggestions that I never could have come up with or even thought of on my own. Finally, I think I’m at the stage where I’m growing confident in how my book is shaping, and I want to dedicate more time to the rewriting and revising process.
In case anyone’s interested, my novel takes place in a fictional steampunk world but based heavily on the events that transpired in Revolutionary France, with Romani twins as the main characters of the book. I commissioned the lovely saltpix on tumblr for character designs, and here they are!
Lastly, me and a friend of mine are planning to open a t-shirt shop that sells cute and geeky shirts. We’re starting off with Harry Potter designs and then moving on to other books and movies such as the Percy Jackson series, Disney princesses, and more! I’m the artist for the shirt designs so that’s also going to take up a lot of time from me.
All in all, I’ve decided to make smarter use of my time. Posts on this blog will be less frequent but more quality, and I will focus almost solely on diverse books outside the indie author review requests that I have accepted.
I hope that this will be a new and exciting transition for the blog and for my readers as well. Thank you to those who have ever left comments before and to the support I’ve received so far. I hope I won’t disappoint and as always, if there’s anything you want to comment on or discuss, I’m always open to listen to you in this blog and in all my other communication channels.
Thank you for sticking with me thus far and here’s to a better, more diverse-centered blog!
